Many of Boston's B2B buyers are scientists, clinicians, engineers and academics. Life sciences, biotech, healthtech, edtech, robotics and B2B software companies sell to people who check references and distrust vague claims. Search content that works here has to survive that kind of reader.
These buyers also research beyond Google. A lab director might read an AI Overview, then ask Perplexity or ChatGPT to compare vendors and follow the cited sources. Pages that state clear facts and point to evidence give an AI answer something solid to reference.
Below are five agencies with SEO services and a Boston-area presence, how we chose them, and what to check before you hire one for a technical or regulated category.
Disclosure: this list is published by Lemniscate Growth, which is included. Lemniscate Growth appears first, and the other four firms are described from their own websites. Last checked: September 2026.
How we chose
- A live website that describes a currently operating agency.
- SEO or search services listed on the firm's own site.
- An office in Boston or Greater Boston listed on its site. Lemniscate Growth is the exception, as a remote firm.
- Enough published detail about services, industries or approach to write a fair, specific description.
- No use of awards, ratings, client logos or prices.
Inclusion is based on what each firm publishes on its own site. Brick Marketing, which appeared in the earlier version of this list, was not included in this update because its website could not be loaded to confirm its current services and location during our September 2026 check.
1. Lemniscate Growth
Lemniscate Growth is a B2B revenue pipeline generation agency with AEO, GEO and SEO as a core service. It plans search work around the questions technical buyers ask and ties results to pipeline, while also running programs across the rest of the funnel. The company is registered in the US and Dubai, delivers from a team in Hyderabad, has 35+ active clients, and builds programs for up to $10M in pipeline per client.
Best for: B2B software, data and technical services companies selling into the Boston market that need content for expert buyers and want AI answer visibility measured against pipeline.
Services: AEO and GEO, technical and content SEO, AI visibility tracking, and pipeline generation beyond search.
Why it made the list: This is our own firm, so read the entry with that in mind. For Aavenir, an AI contract lifecycle management platform built on ServiceNow, 90 to 95% of results came from inbound search. For St. Martinus University, a medical school, the work produced about 3,600% more visibility, which is relevant for edtech and academic audiences. Life sciences companies that need in-house scientific writers, or teams that want a local agency at their office each week, may be better served by a Boston firm.
2. Overdrive
Overdrive is a Boston digital marketing agency with its office at 60 State Street. Its site lists answer engine optimization (AEO), SEO, paid and social media, advanced analytics and strategy, and it describes its AEO work as helping AI engines recognize a brand as a credible, citable source. It names B2B, B2C and healthcare among the markets it serves and describes a strategy-first model that starts with discovery before activation.
Best for: Boston B2B and healthcare marketing teams that want AEO planned together with paid media and analytics.
Services: AEO, SEO, paid media, social media, advanced analytics and measurement, marketing strategy.
Why it made the list: Overdrive replaces Brick Marketing in this update. It has a downtown Boston office, names AEO directly, and lists healthcare, which matters for Boston healthtech. Ask how it separates brand awareness goals from pipeline goals in reporting.
3. Brafton
Brafton is a content marketing agency that lists a Boston headquarters. Its services include content creation, SEO, video production, graphic design, web design, email marketing, social media management and paid search. The site lists generative engine optimization services and publishes material on GEO, including a checklist for AI visibility.
Best for: Companies that need a steady volume of written, video and design content with SEO and GEO built into production.
Services: Content creation, SEO, generative engine optimization, video production, graphic and web design, email, social media and paid search.
Why it made the list: In research-heavy categories, content quality is usually the constraint, and Brafton is organized around content production with in-house creative. It says it works with enterprise and growth-focused small and midsize businesses. Technical buyers should ask how subject-matter experts review drafts and how claims are sourced.
4. GreenBanana SEO
GreenBanana SEO lists its office at Cummings Center in Beverly, Massachusetts, north of Boston. It offers SEO, paid media, web design and development, conversion optimization and AI search services, using the terms answer engine optimization, generative engine optimization and LLM SEO. It says it works across more than 100 verticals, including aerospace, cybersecurity, healthcare, SaaS, financial services and home services.
Best for: Mid-market companies, including technical manufacturers, cybersecurity and SaaS firms, that want an SEO-first agency with AI search services and a Massachusetts base.
Services: SEO, AEO and GEO, paid media including programmatic display and geofencing, web design and development, conversion optimization.
Why it made the list: It is search-focused, explicitly offers AEO and GEO, and names categories that matter locally, such as cybersecurity, healthcare and SaaS. Because it serves both local service businesses and national B2B firms, ask to see work in your category and how B2B leads are tracked.
5. inSegment
inSegment lists Boston as its headquarters, with additional offices in cities including Austin, Los Angeles, Nashville and Washington, D.C. Its services include SEO and generative engine optimization, PPC, content and email marketing, web design and development, creative and branding, and business intelligence with conversion rate optimization. It names B2B and technology, financial institutions and higher education among its industries.
Best for: B2B technology companies and higher education organizations that want SEO, GEO and paid search run together with analytics.
Services: SEO and GEO, PPC, content and email marketing, web design and development, creative and branding, business intelligence and CRO.
Why it made the list: It has a Boston headquarters, lists GEO as a core offering, and names higher education and B2B technology, two important Boston buyer groups. It says its approach relies on analysis, testing, reporting and competitor insight. Ask how GEO results are reported alongside paid search so the same lead is not credited to both.

How to choose an AEO, GEO and SEO agency in Boston
Write for expert readers first
Buyers in biotech, robotics and research software notice thin content quickly. The strongest pages state specific facts, name methods and standards, and cite primary sources such as peer-reviewed papers, regulatory documents or technical specifications. That same clarity helps AI assistants summarize your product accurately.
Ask every agency who writes and who reviews. For scientific or clinical topics, a skilled writer plus review by your own subject-matter expert is the minimum. Our AEO checklist for B2B websites covers the page-level basics.
Put healthtech measurement through a privacy review
If your company is a HIPAA covered entity or business associate, or your product handles health information, involve your privacy or compliance lead before an agency adds analytics tags, pixels, chat widgets or form integrations. Ask each agency how it has handled that review before and what it does when a tracking method is ruled out. Your counsel, not your marketing vendor, should decide what tracking is acceptable.
Report on long cycles and buying committees
Selling to hospitals, universities, labs or pharma companies usually involves committees and procurement. Search reporting should show which accounts and roles engage with content over months, not only how many leads arrived last month. Ask how the agency will connect organic visits and AI referrals to opportunities in your CRM.
Cover AI Overviews, AI Mode and assistants
Google states that there are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and that pages must be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet. Search Console counts traffic from these features within overall Web search data.
For ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, set up a fixed prompt set, such as "best electronic lab notebook for a mid-size biotech", and check each month which firms and sources are cited. If the terms are new to your team, start with AEO and GEO for beginners.
Decide how much a local office matters
Proximity helps for workshops with scientific or product teams in Kendall Square or the Seaport. It matters less for ongoing execution. See our Boston AEO, GEO and SEO page for how we work with Boston companies, or compare options in our New York list.
Questions to ask on the first call
- Who will write about our scientific or technical topics, and how will our experts review drafts before publishing?
- How do you source claims, and will pages cite primary research or standards where relevant?
- What tracking will you add to our site, and how will you work with our privacy or compliance lead on it?
- Which buyer prompts will you monitor in AI assistants, and will you report how accurately we are described, not just whether we are mentioned?
- How will you report on sales cycles that run many months with several stakeholders per account?
- Can you show work for a company that sells to hospitals, universities, labs or engineering teams?
- How is pricing scoped, and what would trigger a change in scope?
Red flags
- Scientific or clinical content published without review by a subject-matter expert.
- Pages that make performance or clinical claims without a source.
- Pixels or third-party tracking installed before your privacy lead has signed off.
- Content marketed as "AI optimized" and produced in bulk with no editorial process.
- Monthly lead counts as the only success metric for a sale that takes 9 to 18 months.
- No plan for checking how AI assistants describe your product or research.
Start with an evidence baseline
Expert buyers reward evidence, and agency selection should work the same way. Request a free audit from Lemniscate Growth to see how your site and AI answer visibility look today, then use it to compare proposals from any firm on this list.
