Top 11 B2B Marketing Agencies in San Francisco for 2026

Eleven San Francisco and Bay Area B2B marketing agencies compared by specialty: pipeline, SEO and AI search, content, brand, web, UX and media buying.

Short answerOur 2026 San Francisco list: Lemniscate Growth for pipeline generation across the funnel; Growth Marketing Pro, AdLift and Victorious for search and AI visibility; Tendo Communications and Walker Sands for content and communications; Mortar for brand; Baunfire and Clear Digital for B2B websites; Neuron for product UX; and Mediasmith for independent media buying. Start by matching the agency type to the problem you need solved.

San Francisco has more B2B marketing agencies than most buyers can reasonably evaluate. The hard part is not finding one. It is figuring out which kind of agency your company needs right now, because a brand studio, a website builder, an SEO firm and a pipeline partner solve very different problems.

This list groups eleven San Francisco and Bay Area agencies by what they actually do, based on what each one publishes on its own website. We kept the original 2026 list where firms checked out and replaced two that we could not confirm as San Francisco B2B agencies.

Disclosure: this list is published by Lemniscate Growth, which is included. Last checked: September 2026.

How we chose

We looked for agencies a San Francisco B2B technology company could realistically shortlist in 2026. Each firm had to meet these criteria:

  • Currently operating, with a working website we reviewed during this update.
  • A San Francisco or Bay Area presence, stated on its own site, or in Lemniscate's case, a dedicated San Francisco program with a remote team.
  • Clear relevance to B2B marketing: pipeline, search and AI visibility, content, communications, brand, web, product UX or media.
  • A specialty that is easy to explain, so buyers can match the firm to a specific problem.
  • Services and focus described specifically enough on the firm's site to evaluate without guessing.

Inclusion is based on what each firm publishes on its own site. We did not use ratings, awards or pricing, and we do not publish any agency's fees.

1. Lemniscate Growth

Lemniscate Growth is a B2B revenue pipeline generation agency. It works across the funnel, with AEO, GEO and SEO as a core service alongside outbound and content, and it reports on pipeline rather than traffic alone. It runs more than 35 active client programs and targets up to $10M in pipeline per client. The company is registered in the US and Dubai, with its team in Hyderabad.

For SaaS buyers, the Aavenir case study is a useful reference: a contract lifecycle management product on ServiceNow where 90 to 95% of results come from inbound search. The IQLECT case study shows $6.4M in pipeline from organic.

Best for: San Francisco B2B tech companies, from Series A to enterprise, that want one partner accountable for qualified pipeline.

Services: SEO, answer engine optimization, generative engine optimization, content, outbound and pipeline reporting.

Why it made the list: It is our own firm, so weigh this entry with that in mind. It fits teams that measure marketing by pipeline and want search, AI visibility and outbound run as one program. It is not the right choice for brand identity projects, large paid media buys, or teams that want an agency in the room in San Francisco every week.

Services: SEO, GEO, paid media on Google, Meta and LinkedIn, content strategy, conversion rate optimization, Reddit marketing, link building and digital PR, web development.

Why it made the list: Few agencies of its size combine paid, organic and community channels like Reddit under one roof, which suits companies whose buyers research on forums as much as on Google.

How to choose a B2B marketing agency in San Francisco

Match the agency type to the problem

Write down the one problem costing you the most revenue before you take a single call. If deals stall because nobody knows you, you need visibility and pipeline work. If buyers visit and leave, you likely need web or product UX. If your story sounds like five competitors, start with brand and positioning.

Your go-to-market motion matters too. Sales-led companies usually need a pipeline partner focused on target accounts and search demand. Product-led companies often get more from product UX and conversion work. Hybrid motions need both, which is why many San Francisco teams run one pipeline partner plus one specialist.

Plan for AI answer engines

Technical buyers increasingly ask ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini for vendor shortlists, and Google shows AI-generated answers on many research queries. Those answers draw on pages that state clear facts: comparison pages, documentation, pricing and integration pages, third-party reviews and community threads.

That changes what you should ask an agency. Rankings still matter, but so does how often your brand is named and cited in AI answers for the prompts your buyers actually use. Our guide on how to benchmark AI visibility explains how to measure this, and the AEO and GEO playbook covers the work behind it. For a San Francisco search partner specifically, see our San Francisco SEO, AEO and GEO page.

Insist on attribution you can check

Agree on definitions before signing: what counts as a marketing qualified lead, a sales accepted opportunity and sourced versus influenced pipeline. Then confirm the agency will report from your CRM, not from its own dashboard. An agency that cannot connect its work to opportunities in Salesforce or HubSpot is asking you to trust it on faith.

Account for California privacy law

The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, is enforced by the California Privacy Protection Agency. Per the agency's FAQ, the exemptions for business-to-business and employee personal information expired on December 31, 2022. It applies to for-profit businesses that meet at least one threshold, such as annual gross revenue of $26.625 million or more (as of January 1, 2025) or buying, selling or sharing personal information of 100,000 or more California consumers or households.

For marketing, that touches form fills, contact enrichment, intent data, ad pixels and retargeting. Ask any agency how it handles consent, opt-outs and data shared with third-party tools, and confirm your obligations with your own counsel.

Questions to ask on the first call

  1. Which of our problems are you best suited to solve, and which should we hire someone else for?
  2. Who will do the work every week, and how much of it is senior time?
  3. How will you report results from our CRM, and how do you define sourced and influenced pipeline?
  4. Which AI answer engines and prompts will you track for us, and how do you measure mentions and citations?
  5. What will you need from our product, sales and engineering teams, and how many hours a month is that?
  6. What should we expect to see at 30, 90 and 180 days?
  7. How do you handle consent, opt-outs and data sharing under California privacy law?
  8. How are fees scoped, and what happens if we want to change scope or exit?
  9. Can we speak with a current client whose company and motion look like ours?

Red flags

  • Guaranteed rankings, guaranteed AI citations or a fixed number of leads before they have seen your data.
  • Reporting built on traffic, impressions or follower counts with no link to opportunities.
  • A pitch led by senior partners, followed by delivery handed to people you never met.
  • Claims to do everything well, from brand identity to outbound to media buying, with no clear specialty.
  • No written view on how AI answer engines affect your category.
  • Long lock-in contracts with no performance review points.
  • Vague answers about where your contact and visitor data goes.

Next step

If you want to know where your company stands before you talk to agencies, start with a baseline. Our free audit shows how you appear in Google and AI answer engines for the prompts your buyers use, and where pipeline is leaking.

FAQ. Quick answers.

Still unsure? Ask us directly.

What does a B2B marketing agency in San Francisco actually do?

It depends on the type. Some agencies own pipeline generation across search, outbound and content. Others specialize in one layer, such as brand identity, website builds, product UX, PR or paid media. Most San Francisco B2B tech companies end up with one pipeline partner plus one or two specialists, so decide which problem is costing you revenue before you compare agencies.

Should a Series A company hire a full-service agency or a specialist?

Usually a focused partner. At Series A you rarely have the budget or internal bandwidth to brief a large full-service team well. Pick the one channel most likely to produce qualified pipeline for your motion, often search and AI visibility for technical products or outbound for high-value accounts, and add specialists such as web or brand when a specific gap appears.

How do AI answer engines change agency selection?

Technical buyers now ask ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI features for vendor shortlists and comparisons. That means your agency needs to improve how often you are named and cited in those answers, not only your keyword rankings. Ask each agency how it measures AI mentions and citations, which prompts it tracks, and how that work connects to pipeline in your CRM.

Does California privacy law affect B2B marketing?

Yes, if your company meets CCPA thresholds. According to the California Privacy Protection Agency, the exemptions for business-to-business and employee personal information expired on December 31, 2022, so B2B contact data is now covered. That affects forms, enrichment tools, ad pixels and data sharing. Ask agencies how they handle consent and opt-outs, and confirm details with your own counsel.
