San Diego's B2B economy runs on technical products: biotech platforms, life sciences tools, defense and aerospace technology, wireless and SaaS. The people who buy them are scientists, engineers and program managers who read closely and check claims.
More of that checking now happens in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini, and in Google's AI Overviews, before anyone contacts sales. If an AI answer describes your platform vaguely or cites a competitor's white paper instead of yours, you can lose the shortlist without ever seeing it happen.
This update focuses on firms with a real San Diego base. Two firms from the earlier version of this page were replaced because we could not verify them on their own websites.
Disclosure: this list is published by Lemniscate Growth, which is included. Last checked: September 2026.
How we chose
- The firm's own website loads and describes a currently operating agency that lists SEO services.
- For every firm other than ours, the website names a San Diego address or headquarters.
- The site explains services, industries or approach clearly enough to judge fit for technical B2B buyers.
- We say a firm offers AEO, GEO or AI search only where its own site names that service.
- Firms we could not load or confirm were removed.
Inclusion is based on what each firm publishes on its own site. We did not use third-party ratings or awards, and entries 2 to 5 are not ranked.
1. Lemniscate Growth
Lemniscate Growth is a B2B revenue pipeline generation agency with AEO, GEO and SEO as a core service, registered in the US and Dubai with a team in Hyderabad. It has 35+ active clients and builds programs for up to $10M in pipeline per client. Its work for CipherBC, a Dubai crypto infrastructure company, was organic and AI search first (CipherBC case study), and St. Martinus University gained about 3,600% more visibility (St. Martinus University case study).
Best for: San Diego B2B technology, SaaS and research-driven companies that want AI search and SEO judged by pipeline, and are comfortable with a remote team.
Services: AEO, GEO and SEO, answer-first content for technical and regulated topics, technical SEO, and pipeline programs across the funnel.
Why it made the list: This is our own firm. It is here because AI search tied to pipeline is our core work, and our experience in a regulated category like crypto carries over to review-heavy content. We have no San Diego office, so teams that want in-person workshops, or consumer ecommerce brands, may be better served by a local firm below.
2. Ignite Visibility
Ignite Visibility's contact page lists a single address, 4370 La Jolla Village Drive in San Diego, which makes in-person meetings practical for local teams. The agency organizes its work as earned, paid and owned media, and its earned media group includes SEO, Generative Engine Optimization, digital PR and influencer marketing. Its site says it builds strategies around each industry's nuances and target audience.
Best for: San Diego companies in healthcare, technology, finance or education that want a local agency running SEO, GEO and paid campaigns together.
Services: SEO, GEO, local SEO, digital PR, influencer marketing, PPC, display and programmatic, video production, content, web development, email, SMS and lifecycle marketing, CRO, and reporting dashboards.
Why it made the list: It is headquartered in San Diego and places GEO in the same group as digital PR, which suits teams that expect outside coverage to shape how AI tools describe them. Biotech and defense teams should ask for examples of work that went through technical or regulatory review.
3. NextLeft
NextLeft describes itself as a Certified B Corporation SEO, content and digital marketing agency in San Diego and Raleigh, North Carolina, with San Diego as its headquarters. Its GEO and AEO service covers Google Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude, including LLM citation and source authority building. On the SEO side it lists technical audits, keyword research, link building, and local, national and international SEO.
Best for: B2B, SaaS, finance and nonprofit organizations in San Diego that want a search-led agency with a clearly defined GEO offer and in-house content.
Services: GEO and AEO, technical SEO audits, local, national and international SEO, link building, video and YouTube SEO, content strategy, paid media on Google, Meta, LinkedIn and X, web design and development, and CRO.
Why it made the list: It is based in San Diego, puts GEO and AEO at the top of its service list, and names the AI platforms it works on. Its industry list is broad, from credit unions to auto and real estate, so ask for B2B technology examples if that is your market.
4. Power Digital
Power Digital lists its primary office on Scranton Road in San Diego, with other offices in New York, Atlanta and Medellín, Colombia. It describes itself as a growth marketing firm that combines strategic consulting, data intelligence, channel expertise and proprietary technology, including an AI operating system it calls Omega. Its services include SEO and Generative Engine Optimization, which it pitches as making a brand visible across AI search.
Best for: Larger San Diego B2B and healthcare companies that want SEO and GEO inside a wider growth program with marketing measurement and data work.
Services: SEO, GEO, paid media, earned media, organic social, creative services, strategic consulting, and data intelligence and marketing measurement.
Why it made the list: It has a San Diego headquarters, names GEO as a service, and puts measurement at the center, saying it believes in "accountability versus obfuscation." B2B is one of six verticals it lists alongside CPG, fashion and lifestyle, so confirm that your team would have technical B2B experience.
5. Mindgruve
Mindgruve describes itself as a modern media, commerce and data technology company, with headquarters at 627 8th Avenue in San Diego and locations including Denver, New York, Mexico City and São Paulo. Its services span strategy, creative, media planning, SEO, technology development and ecommerce. It also promotes Sightline, a platform it says uses predictive AI to choose audiences, channels, messaging and investment levels.
Best for: San Diego companies with large media budgets or commerce operations that want SEO connected to media planning, web technology and data.
Services: SEO, media planning, strategy, creative, technology and web development, ecommerce, and predictive planning through its Sightline platform.
Why it made the list: It is headquartered in San Diego, and its site raises a practical AI search issue, warning that most AI crawlers do not run JavaScript, so script-rendered sites can look nearly blank to ChatGPT. Its site does not list AEO or GEO as a named service and its work leans toward large consumer brands, so B2B teams should ask how it would scope AI search work.

How to choose an AEO, GEO and SEO agency in San Diego
Write for scientists, then review like a regulated company
Biotech, diagnostics and medical device buyers want mechanisms, data and methods, not slogans. Specific, well-structured pages are easier for AI answer engines to quote accurately, but an error on your site can be repeated in every answer that cites it.
Ask how the agency handles scientific, regulatory and legal review before anything goes live. An agency that expects to publish weekly without review time will either stall or create risk.
Decide what defense and aerospace content can be public
Defense tech companies often cannot publish the technical depth that earns citations in other categories. Agree with your compliance team on what is cleared, such as capabilities, contract vehicles and use cases, and give the agency that boundary on day one.
Then build citation sources you control: clear capability pages, approved conference talks and third-party coverage your team has signed off on.
Decide whether a local office matters
Four firms on this list have San Diego headquarters, which helps if you want workshops on site or regular reviews with your scientists and engineers. For B2B topics, AI answers and Google results are rarely local, so a remote specialist can still be the right call.
If you also sell into the Bay Area or Los Angeles, the California AEO, GEO and SEO page covers statewide considerations, and our California agency list compares firms with a wider footprint.
See what AI tools say about you today
Before hiring, run the prompts your buyers would use in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini, and note which sources each answer cites. Our guide on how to benchmark AI visibility walks through a repeatable method you can hand to any agency.
Handle B2B contact data under the CCPA
San Diego companies collect a lot of B2B contact data through conferences, webinars and gated scientific content. The California Privacy Protection Agency's CCPA FAQ says the exemption for personal information reflecting business-to-business transactions expired on December 31, 2022, and that the agency can investigate, audit businesses and bring enforcement actions.
The same FAQ says businesses must honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control. Ask any agency how its forms, retargeting audiences and lead handoffs respect those rules, and get sign-off from your counsel.
Questions to ask on the first call
- Who on your team has written for scientific, clinical or engineering audiences?
- How do you fit our regulatory, medical or legal review into the content calendar?
- How would you handle topics we cannot publish in detail for export-control or contract reasons?
- Which team members are in San Diego, and how often would we meet in person?
- Which prompts would you use to measure how ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini describe us?
- How do your forms and retargeting setups handle CCPA notices and opt-out signals?
- What will you need from our scientists or engineers each month?
Red flags
- A content plan that leaves no time for scientific or regulatory review.
- Writers who cannot explain your technology back to you after kickoff.
- Pressure to publish technical detail your compliance team has not cleared.
- A "local team" claim when the San Diego address is only a mailing address.
- Lead capture setups that ignore CCPA notices and opt-out requests.
- AI visibility reports with no list of the prompts and sources behind them.
